Acoustic Byblos

This instrument has won the Innovation Award 2010 funded by Languedoc
Roussillon region, and awarded by Confluence.

This is a hybrid between the oud (oriental lute) and the guitar.
The goal is to allow guitarists access to Eastern sounds with the
playability of a guitar.

This instrument has a body, African Mahogany and padauk, carved into the
solid pieces of wood like the African percussion instruments.
The spruce top is designed like an acoustic guitar.
The neck is also African mahogany and padauk
The ebony fingerboard has no frets but padauk fret markers to increase
accuracy.
The strings are doubled an octave higher or in unison except the low one,
which gives 11 strings.
